o Former BMG Executive to Direct AOL's Digital Music Unit

Dulles, Va. -- America Online announced on Wednesday that Kevin Conroy,
former chief marketing officer and president of new technology for BMG
Entertainment, has been named head of AOL Music. Conroy will direct the
company's relationships with major record labels and is charged with
implementing AOL's subscription service for downloading digital music. He
will also head Spinner, AOL's online radio service division; Winamp, the
division that created the free music player; and the AOL Music Channel. At
BMG, Conroy helped engineer the company's recent partnership with Napster,
and other initiatives such as GetMusic.com, a digital music collaboration
with Universal Music Group. "The online medium has the potential to
transform the music industry as dramatically as the phonograph, radio, or
the compact disc," said Conroy. "Only AOL Time Warner has all of the
pieces needed to lead this industry to the next level -- tens of millions
of subscribers and users, an incredible library of great albums and songs,
an industry-leading technological infrastructure and some of the world's
best-known recording artists."
