o Take-Two Subpoenaed by New York County Over "Grand Theft Auto" Game

New York - Take-Two Interactive, publisher of the "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" video game that was pulled from shelves last year after sexually-explicit content was discovered hidden within its source code, announced on Tuesday that it has received grand jury subpoenas from New York County's district attorney, requesting documents related to the incident. While the company said that it has not been told it is a target of any investigation, its shares plummeted nearly 16% in Tuesday trading. Take-Two has been called on to produce documents relating to its knowledge of the creation of the "Hot Coffee" sexual mini-game; the submission of the title to the Entertainment Software Rating Board; the company's acquisitions, and activities of its officers and board members; and its dealings with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. The company recently settled an FTC probe into the matter without facing any serious consequences.

o NBC, Video-Sharing Site YouTube in Promotional Partnership

Burbank, Calif. - NBC announced on Tuesday that it will promote its fall television line-up on the YouTube video-sharing site, which attracted 20 million users during the month of May. Under the deal, NBC will create an official NBC Channel on YouTube, featuring exclusive promo clips for the upcoming seasons of shows like "The Office," in addition to long-form promos each week for shows like "The Tonight Show" and "Saturday Night Live." In return, YouTube will receive significant on-air promotion on NBC. The companies will also launch a contest where viewers of "The Office" can create and submit their own 20-second promo videos and post them on YouTube. NBC clashed with YouTube several months ago, over the site's previously more lax control over the posting of copyrighted content, when several clips from "Saturday Night Live" posted on YouTube drew millions of viewers and considerable attention to the site.
