o U.S. Stock Markets Will Remain Closed on Friday, Open on Monday

New York -- The head of the New York Stock Exchange said on Thursday
afternoon that the major U.S. stock markets will remain closed on Friday,
but will resume trading on Monday. Trading has been shut since Tuesday,
when terrorist attacks hit the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. This
has been the longest trading halt since World War I. Markets will open
Monday at 9:30 a.m.

o WTC Neighbor One Liberty Plaza, Home to Nasdaq, Partially Collapses

New York -- One Liberty Plaza, the 54-story tower that houses the
headquarters of the Nasdaq National Market, was pummeled with falling
debris from the World Trade Center and has partially collapsed, CNN.com
reported late Wednesday. All 127 staffers that were inside the building
during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center Tuesday were
evacuated before the collapse. CBS MarketWatch reported that Nasdaq
spokespersons said the building is not in danger of fully collapsing,
having been examined by two engineering firms who found it to be
"structurally sound." One Liberty Plaza owner Brookfield Properties added,
"none of the damage renders the building inoperable." Nasdaq spokesman
Scott Peterson told CNN that the partial collapse would have "no effect on
technical facilities" related to the operation of the exchange, where many
digital media and other technology-related stocks are traded. The Nasdaq
told Reuters that employees who worked in the building will be relocated
to other U.S. offices. Nasdaq CEO Hardwick Simmons addressed the state of
the exchange in a note on its website that reads, "We are testing our
systems and those of our members as I write… The American capital markets
are sound. Nasdaq will be open."

o Nintendo Shares Drop on U.S. GameCube Sales Worries

Tokyo -- Due to fears that U.S. consumers may not buy as many Nintendo
GameCube consoles this holiday shopping season in light of terrorist
attacks on the country Tuesday, shares in the video game manufacturer have
dropped on consecutive days, Reuters reported. Nintendo closed down 5.95
percent Thursday -- the daily loss limit on Japan's Nikkei index -- after
hitting the same loss limit on Wednesday. "The attacks prompted the
sell-off, since investors are worried the incidents will chill consumers'
Christmas shopping appetite for games," said Tokyo-Mitsubishi Securities
senior analyst Nobumasa Morimoto. The GameCube is set to be released in
the U.S. on Nov. 18.

o Streaming Services Firm IBeam in Talks for More Funding

Sunnyvale, Calif. -- IBeam Broadcasting Corp., a provider of streaming
media services, said that it is in discussions with principal shareholder
Williams Communications to provide funding necessary to support its
continued operation. The company did not say whether an agreement is
imminent, how much is being discussed, or whether the proposed funding
would be in the form of equity or debt. IBeam also lowered its guidance
for the amount it estimates it needs to continue operations to between $25
and $30 million. Provided this amount is attained, the company says it
will achieve profitability in the second quarter rather than the third
quarter of 2002. Sunnyvale-based IBeam provides services to companies
including MTVi, CNBC, Merrill Lynch and IBM/Lotus.
