o AOL Time Warner Launches High-Speed Services in Raleigh, Tampa

New York -- AOL Time Warner announced on Thursday the launch of high-speed
Internet access services that will be provided via its cable TV lines in
Raleigh, North Carolina and Tampa, Florida. EarthLink simultaneously
announced the launch of its own services -- which will be transmitted
using the same Time Warner cable lines -- as part of the stipulations
placed on the U.S. government's approval of the AOL Time Warner merger.
Last week, the two companies made similar announcements for the launch of
services in Syracuse, New York and Columbus, Ohio. The government mandates
that AOL Time Warner must provide competing service from two ISPs on its
own cable lines within 90 days of launching its own high-speed access
service.

supporting its digital content security and interactive services business
units, as well as close offices in Oregon and Colorado. With its stock
price near a 52-week low, the company said that it will also institute a

(London) Prices as high as $73 per month for ADSL services in the U.K.
were called a "death knell" for the high-speed Internet access technology
in a recent government report, TheRegister reported on Thursday. The
service would need to come down in price to between $30 and $45 per month
-- comparable to cable modem broadband access offered by TV and telephone
companies -- in order to gain consumer support. The report also stated
that, "without some kind of subsidy current economics preclude the offer
of these rates."

(Los Angeles) Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment (SPDE) announced on
Thursday that it will promote Sony Pictures and Revolution Studios'
upcoming film "The One" through a game designed specifically for handheld

from amateur eyewitness accounts to hackers' defacements to the corporate
sites that posted missing employees, the collection currently contains
1,100 items and is expected to gain at least 1,000 more before it is
