o FullAudio Licenses Universal Songs; Clear Channel to Distribute Service

Chicago, Ill. -- FullAudio, a company creating a digital music
subscription service independent of the major labels' MusicNet and
Pressplay efforts, announced on Monday that it has signed a two-year
agreement to license a portion of Universal Music Group's catalog for its
service. The company also announced that Clear Channel Radio -- which owns
1,170 radio stations across the country -- will distribute FullAudio
subscription services through its websites in five major U.S. markets. The
services will include downloadable playlists created by radio station
programmers in each market. FullAudio's license from Universal Music Group
adds to its existing licenses from Universal Music Publishing, EMI
Recorded Music, EMI Music Publishing and BMG Music Publishing.
Chicago-based FullAudio's services, expected to launch early next year,
will download encrypted songs to a user's computer that will only be
playable with an active subscription. Like the major labels' subscription
services, users of FullAudio's service will not be able to be transfer
songs to portable devices or burn them onto CD.

o Excite@Home Sells Web Portal to IWon for $10 Million

Redwood City, Calif. -- Bankrupt broadband access provider Excite@Home has
sold its Excite.com Web portal to rival search provider IWon for $10
million. The purchase will be made by search technology firm InfoSpace,
which will turn over assets to IWon, a site that offers Web surfers the
opportunity to win multi-million dollar prizes by searching on its site.
Redwood City-based Excite@Home is still in the midst of bankruptcy
proceedings, and has received an offer of $307 million for its broadband
service assets from AT&T -- a bid considered too low by several groups of
its shareholders.

o AOL Time Warner, Sony to Collaborate on Networked Home Devices

New York -- AOL Time Warner and Sony Corporation announced on Monday that
they will work together to develop home entertainment devices that are
connected to one another as well as to the Internet. The devices will let
users access broadband services and content provided by AOL through PCs
and other devices created by Sony, and share them within a
copyright-protected environment. The two companies will jointly develop an
Internet browser that the televisions, audio equipment, and other
electronic devices will use to access the Internet. Part of the agreement
calls for the network software and services to be developed to have an
open architecture, meaning its workings will be available to any
developers who wish to develop new devices or improve existing devices.
