o MusicNet Now Offering All 5 Majors With New Sony, Universal Licenses

New York -- MusicNet, a digital music subscription service joint venture
between AOL, RealNetworks and record labels BMG, EMI, Warner Bros. and
Zomba, on Monday announced a number of new and expanded licensing
agreements that will result in an offering featuring tracks from all five
major record labels. The company finally licensed tracks from Sony Music
and Universal Music Group, whose own Pressplay joint venture last week
announced deals to offer tracks from all five major labels as well. In
addition, New York-based MusicNet announced expanded deals with Warner
Music Group, BMG and EMI that will now allow subscribers to burn select
tracks to CD, transfer them to portable devices, and purchase permanent
downloads from each label.

o Report: Video Game Advertising Up 273.9% In 2002

Niagara Falls, N.Y. -- Video game-related advertising this year to date
has jumped 273.9 percent over the same period a year ago, according to a
recent report from New York-based Beyen International Market Research. The
study notes that, through September of 2002, ads for Sony PlayStation 2
accounted for 42.9 percent of all retail ads. Microsoft Xbox ads were
second, representing 23.5 percent, while ads for Nintendo GameCube made up
19.8 percent and those for Sony's PS one accounted for 11.3 percent.

o Google, Overture to Provide Pay-for-Performace Listings to Yahoo Japan

Mountain View, Calif. -- Search engine technology providers Google and
Overture both announced on Monday that they have struck deals to provide
their paid-placement ads to Yahoo Japan, the Web portal's Japanese
subsidiary, which reaches an estimated 78 percent of the country's
population. Mountain View, Calif.-based Google said it will provide its
Adwords Select service, in addition to the Web search results it also
provides to Yahoo Japan. Pasadena-based Overture will provide its
pay-for-performance listings to the portal beginning in December. Both
companies had vied for the contract, and each were awarded part of the
whole with the two non-exclusive deals announced today.

o Content Delivery Network Speedera Networks Raises $6.5 Million

Cambridge, Mass. -- Speedera Networks, a provider of streaming media and
content delivery network services, announced on Monday that it has raised
$6.5 million in its third round of venture capital financing, led by
Trinity Ventures. The company also separately announced it has paid off
its $3 million in debt and is now debt-free. Customers including
Amazon.com, DoubleClick, Macromedia and Microsoft use Massachusetts-based
Speedera's services to speed their streaming media and other content more
quickly across the Internet to users. Speedera will use the new funds to
expand its sales force and international presence, and to fund future
acquisitions.

o $3.3 Million Used to Create International Children's Digital Library

Washington -- A consortium of government, non-profit and corporate
interests have invested $3.3 million to create a digital library of 10,000
children's books drawn from 100 cultures, as part of a long-term research
project to develop new technology to serve young readers. The
International Children's Digital Library (ICDL) is being created through a
collaborative effort between The Internet Archive, the largest library on
the Internet, and The University of Maryland's Human-Computer Interaction
Lab, a developer of children's interface design. Books are being donated
to the project by The Library of Congress and publishers Children's Book
Press, HarperCollins, Random House and Scholastic. Funding for the project
is being provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Institute
of Museum and Library Services, the Kahle/Austin Foundation and the Markle
Foundation. "This is the beginning of a long-term project to provide
children around the world with access to literature from different
cultures in a way that is intuitive and accessible," said ICDL director
Jane White.

o Broadcast Video Server Firm Omneon Video Networks Raises $12.5 Million

Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Omneon Video Networks, a provider of servers used to
deliver digital television, announced on Monday that it has raised $12.5
million in its latest round of financing. Accel Partners and Norwest
Venture Partners led the investment round; new investor Advanced
Technology Ventures and incumbent investors Meritech, Intel Communications
Fund and Lucent Venture Partners also participated. Sunnyvale,
Calif.-based Omneon's servers are used by broadcasters including the BBC,
BSkyB and PBS to deliver digital television as well as services such as
video-on-demand and HDTV. The company will use the funds "to continue
further product development while meeting the increasing demand for
product and company growth," said Omneon president and CEO Lawrence
Kaplan.

streaming radio service targeted at its broadband subscribers. The service
is the first to feature AOL's new "Ultravox" streaming technology, which
AOL says provides quicker player load times and dramatically reduced
buffering. The service will offer CD-quality 128kbps streams on 125
commercial-free stations.

(Irvine, Calif.) GameSpy, a provider of online game technology and
content, announced on Monday that it has signed a multi-year technology
licensing and services agreement with game developer Electronic Arts.
Irvine, Calif.-based GameSpy said EA will incorporate GameSpy's middleware
into select PC games that feature online game play. GameSpy will also
provide assistance in managing the back-end services for EA's online
games.

(Mesquite, Texas) Video game developer Id Software announced on Monday
that it is working on the next installment in its popular "Wolfenstein"
series. " Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory" is currently being developed by
London-based Splash Damage and Massachusetts-based Mad Doc Software, with
assistance from Los Angeles-based Gray Matter Software. Mesquite,
Texas-based Id Software will act as executive producer for the game, which
will be released in the first half of 2003.

OpenTV on Monday announced an alliance with M@gicBox, a developer of
credit card-assigned advanced set-top box technology. Under the agreement,
